Analogue light

Haven't had so much fun in a long time !

Leica Minilux loaded with Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 .. As you'll see below, results are weird, yet so analogue-beautiful in their imperfection !

The shock came in the studio, when they handed me over a developed color negative - i expected a positive ready to be projected! As i later learnt (thanks Danny!), a C41 crossed film, at least the Lomography as here, will come out as a negative which has to be reversed in the scanner. I had this initial shock and worry that they did not "press some  button" and just rushed it into the machine - and all came out reversed.. Still, the more i was looking at the negative, the more i was seeing something special in it ..

Well, back home, and after some time learning this new scanner (Canon 9000F) - i finally got to a stage where i liked what was coming out of it ..

Here are few images from the past few days, walk-around, street stuff, no processing, nothing, no curves, shadows, color - nothing - except for some sharpen - directly out of a preset i put together for this film

What say you ?

For first time in years, i do not feel like improving, processing further images, and ironically - today - because of the very same thing - the images imperfection..

I can just see this film and processing settling with me for a long time.

She is here and she is beautiful !

It is time to get back in time and stay there : film with all it's imperfections is here to stay : the Minilux is here !

The X10 wanted urgently to take a portrait of it while still loaded with the last roll of Kodachrome 64 ..

Minilux wanted to shoot Kodachrome, but sadly and since Kodak gave us the finger, she got an amazing new analogue memory of the Life (almost) obscure - the Lomography X-Pro Chrome 100 !

May they enjoy their love affair for many years to come !

Gergiovden, 2012

This is for all the beautiful women who graced our table with their presence.

And for Mitaka, in case he doesn't remember a thing ..

Dorothy Masuku at the Lucky Bean

22 April, Sunday .. the Lucky Bean. It's slowly filling up and the excitement can be felt in the air : Dorothy Masuku, an old veteran of SA Jazz is performing for selected few of us in the limited space at the Bean.

It was a whirlwind of styles and standards, great old works, raw jazz at its best. With the top class support from Bheki Khoza Quartet, who again were setting the pace high or slowing down our hearts.

And Dorothy warmed up the autumn evening with her soul..

Thank you Conway. Looking forward to the next live !
